This project has successfully delivered two high-performance semi-detached homes in the village of Edgcott, each with a Gross Internal Area of 70 m². Built using the Beattie Build System, the homes achieve excellent thermal performance and airtightness, providing comfortable, low-energy living for local families.
Vale of Aylesbury Housing Trust (VAHT) is a not-for-profit Registered Social Landlord managing more than 7,500 homes, 16 supported housing schemes, and 129 shared-ownership properties across the Vale of Aylesbury. Their mission is to create safe, sustainable homes and make a lasting social and economic contribution to the communities they serve.
Project Highlights
Fast, Precise Delivery – Off-site fabrication of the Structural Thermal Envelope enabled a swift, high-quality build.
Energy Efficiency – Homes designed to exceed current energy standards, reducing running costs and carbon emissions.
Community Benefit – Adds much-needed affordable housing within a rural Buckinghamshire village.
The Edgcott scheme demonstrates how modern timber-frame construction can deliver durable, low-carbon homes at a community scale—meeting both the environmental ambitions of VAHT and the needs of local residents.

New Meaning Construction teaches and encourages young people to learn new skills and help them develop confidence, self-belief and to gain life skills. Beattie Passive provided training for 5 young people at their Training Academy in Norfolk on a workshop-based training course. Following on from the workshop-based training, the trainees developed their skills on-site though erecting structures for Beattie Passive and have set-up their factory in order to deliver units for Vale of Aylesbury.
